Momma and Daddy took a drive into the mountains in the metal monster a few days ago.. On their way up, they saw this sign. Yes, that is snow!!!
They went to this pretty mountain lake. We can see it from the Big Piney Woods (look in our sidebar on the right with me and Mitten's silhouettes, just under our double picture ~About The Calicos~, and you will see the white peak with snow on it; that is what you see in the picture above, but the snow is mostly gone now.) She also said, with the rain we are getting today, it is probably really snowing up there now. It took them 2 hours to drive to it. Momma said they went back and forth, up higher and higher. She didn't see any vishus bears.

It looks very pretty there. Mum says when she and dad went to Alaska a fe years ago, they went for a walk along a trail on their own and there was a sign warning that it was bear country, and to make some noise so as not to surprise the bears. Dad says mum was yap, yap, yapping non stop so the bears knew they were there. He said she yapped that much she nearly gave him earache. Mum said she wasn't taking any chances about surprising any bears though.
Oh what a pretty place to live!
How come Pooh Bear isn't on that sign? He's a bear too.
Oh, he lives in the Hundred Acre Woods. Is that close by? We'd kinda like to meet him.
What beautiful scenery. It looks like a post card.
Visus bears? Scary! I like teddy bears much better.
I think it is amazingly beautiful where you live! I never knew Grizzlies and Black Bears had different footprints. That's very interesting.
That looks lovely. However I am quite glad to hear that your people encountered no bears.
I prefer my bears as teddy bears. Soft, cuddley and non-threatening.
I don't think I'd like bears. I have my paws full with a sister who's got a kangaroo in her! Sure is pretty, though!
Mom says that when she was in Idaho, she did see a bear. She was camping in an old fire lookout and saw one in the morning. And then they went to Canada, and saw one walking along the highway there. They had to warn some hikers who were coming toward it. We think you are right - bears are more vishus than deer.

That is a beautiful view. But I would be nervous about those bears. They could probably swallow one of us whole!

What beautiful scenery. I'm not sure about the bears, I think they might be slightly fierce, especially if I was fishing for their salmon!

Ooh, we heard that bears EAT deer. So they MUST keep a place safe from vishus deer. Mebbe we should keep one in our yard!
Those vishus bears do sound scary. Please stay away from them Mistrie!
