Mum says when she and dad went to Alaska a fe years ago, they went for a walk along a trail on their own and there was a sign warning that it was bear country, and to make some noise so as not to surprise the bears. Dad says mum was yap, yap, yapping non stop so the bears knew they were there. He said she yapped that much she nearly gave him earache.
