Laughlin, Nevada

Our Furless Ones used to go South for the winter (they were called Snow Birds.....ummmmm sounds like something we could eat, maybe?) For three of our years they packed us furkids up in the camper, added litter boxes, food, and water (which spilled everywhere) and set off for the Southwest (Lauglin, Nevada.) We are NOT good travlers, might I add. Mittens hid the whole time under tons of blankets. I, however, was more daring, and would peek out the windows on occasion. Anyway, they rented a condo, and once we got used to it, it wasn't so bad.

Dad would go to the casinos, a place, according to Mom, with flashing lights, wild women, booze and sin. Mom said he was throwing money away. (Was there a big wastebasket in this casino?) She said, "they don't build these fancy places and give you 99 cent breakfasts and free coffee mugs and still let you win tons of money." Evidently he never listened to her, because he kept going back. According to him, one year he won $700, however, other years aren't mentioned. Now I find that odd....but, hey, what do I know, I am only a cat.

The condos were nice. They were completely furnished (Momma did bring the bottom part of our scratching post, and she said, also, her toothbrush.)

Three years ago, Mom said, "I am a home-body," thus ending our adventures. I think it had something to do with Mistrie coming, and now, of course, little Precious.

that could be. but our mommy says that she would not like to be away from home (efenn wif us) for more than a few days. And wif Mistrie being an outside kitty, she was prolly werried about somefing happening. Mommy says that it's hard to travel wif 3 kitties. She and daddy usded to do it all the time though, 'acause mommy would not leave Trixie, Norton and Ralphie home alone - they always gotted into big trouble

The woman doesn't travel so much since she's had us. In our other house, she had a good friend who would cat sit and she trusted her to do everything. Here she doesn't have an on call pet sitter and is more reluctant to leave.

Our people don't travel much anymore. When we lived in Massachusetts (the time before the kittens) we used to travel to NJ together all of the time. Now they just stay home mostly. I like that.

Hey! Our Dad is going to Laughlin, NV in Feb. on a golf vacation with oldest college boy. We never heard of the place until last month when he signed up!!
Our mom doesn't like even being away from us when she goes to the grocery store, so she really has a tough time when she goes for several days away. But we get extra lovin' when she gets back! That's the best part.

Mom knows sumone who takes his kitties to Florida in his RV, but they ride in their PTUs (cages), then live in the RV, campin all summer. I bet the kitties are still happy to return to their real howse in Whiskonsin.
Oh, an the cat afore Bonnie went nuts just ridin 10 minutes in the car, so no way could she travel. Mom says when they moved, she heard 2 hours of cat cussin. Scruffy cursed her wif efurry cat curse she knew an a few she made up on that trip!
I'll stay home, fank you furry much.

It sounds like you had fun on your travels. My humans have 3 kinds of trips - long trips, when I get put in kitty jail, weekend trips, when I stay home and Uncle Andrew comes and feeds me, and trips to Devon Grandma's, when we all go to stay in her house - I like her house but I hate the 5 hours in the Evil Cat Carrier in the car, I am quite vocal! We are going there for Christmas in a few weeks (sigh).

I've lived in the same apartment ever since I came home whe I was just 8 weeks old! Well, except for the month we had to move to a different apartment in the same building 'coz of earth-quake retrofit. I hated it. It had all the same stuff, same futon, same table & chairs and all but it *wasn't* home. I hid for almost a week. I was very happy when we went back.

When I have to go to the v-e-t I get to ride on the Bus! I don't really like it, but I don't make a lot of fuss. My person holds me & hugs me when we get there.

I would rather be home. I tolerate the kittie spa when mum has to be gone.

I don't think I'd want to be anywhere but real home. It would take too long to get another place just right!

Well, I hate traveling, so I wouldn't care for that arrangement at all. Glad you get to stay home now.

I think the condo looks pretty nice. It looks like you might be able to make it feel like you are home. I guess it's just the traveling bit that you don't like. It's been so long since I have traveled except going to the v-e-t when something happens. When I was younger we would go between where Mom and Dad worked (motel)and home. That's where Mom got me so I wouldn't have to live outside anymore.

I think you are probably right about your Mom not wanting to go away and leave Mistrie Rose. Travelling with three cats might be just a little bit two much, especially since two of them don't get along really well. It looks like you did used to have fun, though.

Traveling with three cats is definitely an adventure, as my mom can tell you! But mostly we just all stay home.
