Final Kitten News

I have done everything I am physically able to do, to find and save the kittens. I have gone down day after day, many times two and three times, and sat and waited. All I ever saw was a well fed tabby. Because my eye surgery is fast approaching, I need to focus on that a little; also Precious, who is my number one priority right now. On my last and final journey down the path, to collect the dishes, I bid the kittens farewell, told them I loved them, and wished them well. ( I hope they never heard me.) I have a feeling, that with Momma gone, they ventured out on their own, possibly she was the reason they were hanging there. There are plenty of houses around, that the kittens could have gone to. I am hoping that is what they did.

I will never walk by the Corner Woods without a pang in my heart. I did what I could, I saved one life. Hopefully, this will inspire someone else to "save a life." I NEVER had any intentions of having more than two cats in the house, but one look at this tiny, bony, sick, girl and there was no doubt what the outcome would be. She went into the carrier so easily; she trusted me immediately. I love her so.

Toni - you did all that you could -more than 99% of the population would have done (excluding all of us cat lovers). You do need to concentrate on your upcoming surgery and on getting Precious healthy, and integrating her with Patches and Mittens. You are a God-send to Precious - her own guardian angel sent to rescue her. - Meezers Mom Mary

Momma says it's tough to let them go. She said maybe they had big voices like I did and were let to their furever homes someplace else. We can't ever know. At least Precious now has a wondeful home.

You did what you could. You saved Precious from a life of hunger and uncertainty.

Just remember, A doctor does not go into surgery thinking he has to save every patient in the hospital. He knows that for that moment there is no other patient that matters more than the one before him. And when he is done, he knows that there will be another. He also regretfully knows that there other patients that were lost during that time.

You did what you could, and that is enough in my book.

Toni-
Everyone is absolutely right- you made a difference for one. It isn't to accept the way things are, but they ALWAYS work out for the best.

Everyone's right... you did what you could do, and what a sweet life you have saved! Remember that. She trusted you and came with you, she knew she was meant to be with you!

You did more than most people would do and you did it for the kittens, no other reason. They very well may have moved on to another home. My barn manager rescued a kitten in the summer and it died that night with her. The two siblings are still romping around the farm.

Giving Precious a forever home is the best thing you could do for her future kittens that won't have to be.

we think you did exactly the right thing, but you saved more lives than one actually. if poor Precious had been left on her own, she could have produced even more homeless kittens. now the beautiful girl has a loving home - it's a happily ever after story!

*big kitty smiles* That's how me and Mini came to live at the House of the (Mostly) Black Cats, Mom Toni. We were all skinny and starving and showed up (a year apart!!!), and Mom and Grandma took us in. Even though they didn't ever plan to have more than one inside cat. (And Sanjee sure didn't plan on any sisfurs. hehehe) They and loved us back to plumpness and healthiness. Now we're not skinny or starving at all, and we're furry happy. I'm sure that Precious will be just as happy with you and Patches and Mittens. Efurrycat and bean is right that you can't save all the kitties in the world. The kittens went the way God wanted them to and found their own homes, wif beans or wif him and that's the way it's meant to be. You did all you could and that's wondermous :)
Now go concentrate on you and Precious and Patches and Mittens. And Mistrie of course!
Purrrrrrrrrs,
Boni, Sanjee, Mini and Pepi

PS Gree stopped by for a while at dinner time. Gee, hard to believe she picked *that* time. hehehe She said she was gonna stay under the hemlocks wif Mistrie another day. If you got too many kitties to handle, Mom says send 'em both ofur here and they can hang out in Gree's favorite leaf pile.

Dear Toni, you have tried your best with the kittens. It is very likely that they have found their own furrever homes. God bless you for saving Precious Flower. Hugs to all of you.

We are hoping the little ones got adopted in your area, and that is why they haven't camed back. Maybe you can check with some neighbors?

So now, concentrate on your new addition to the family, and preparing to get well again. I'm sure all the kitties will be excellent nursies!

Even Precious. For her, YOU are precious.

Once upon a time their was a lovely lady called CalicoMomToni. She has a big loving heart for all sorts of animals, but especially kitties. She helped Patches, Mittens, Mistrie and now Precious come into a loving home. The kitties are all furry safe and loved. They will live happily ever after.

The bestest thing about this is that it is true, not just a fairy tail. Lots of love to all in the Big Piney Woods.

Everybody's already said it--you did more than a lot of other people would have done. And I bet those babies found nice places to live, too.

OH! I've missed so much news while I've been away. Wow. You did all you could, that's all you could do. :purrs: to you.

Precious has found her forever home! That's great news. And as a formerly homeless cat, I wish you all good things for helping a little one who needed it.

We want to echo - you did what you could, and then some! If it wasn't for you, Precious would have worked herself to death trying to care for them - she sounds like that kind of momma. Don't worry any more - take care of Precious and yourself. Especially with surgery coming - you need to concentrate on the positive things here. You saved a sweet little life. Bravo to you.

What a sweet story. Was looking at the before and after photos of Precious. What a difference.

I'll bet those little kittens had no trouble finding good homes, either.

I understand how hard it is NOT to worry about little Precious small babies. But ease your heart knowing you did all that was humanly possible to help find the babies. Give peace to yourself for saving Precious.

you are Such A Good Bean, calico mom toni! you have blessed little precious, and been blessed by her. everything all of us said above is true. be at peace, and rejoice that much pain and fear will never happen now. many lives have been saved through your selflessness and love.

now rest and nourish yourself mentally and physically for the upcoming operation. enjoy cuddles with all the girls. they'll figure out where they fit in the family eventually, and bent whiskers and out-of-joint noses will be a thing of the past.

bless you, woman! you're on the purrrrrrrrayer list fer sure!
