Our New Cousins

The oldest boyson, Leigh, and his wife Paige, adopted these two darling, identical twin meezers, three days ago. They are 6 to 8 weeks old girl cats. Their names are Thelma and Louise. Cuteness personified. We wonder, how are they going to tell them apart? Paige says, Thelma, in front, has bigger eyes.

Duct Tape

Momma says here, in a State of Winter, everything worth fixing can be fixed with duct tape (and WD-40.) The uses, according to her, are endless but here are a few to help you out. In general, you can use it for anything you need to nail, tape, mend, sew, glue or staple.

1. Wrapping packages that you mail
2. Fixing your shoe leathers
3. Holding Christmas lights up (inside and out)
4. Keeping cold from coming in around windows
5. Holds your bumper in place till you get the new one
6. It's better than cellopane tape and comes off easier
7. Mark trees you want cut for firewood
8. Mend screens
9. Mend broken windows
10. Mend fences (not the broken kind you have with your neighbor, though)
11. Put on your dog's tail just for the heck of it and watch it swing

What do you use duct tape for?

On another note, does anyone have any idea how to stop Precious from sharpening her claws on the furniture? Momma says the "know" word and moves her paws off, placing them on the scratching post. She just goes back, and she is using all the furniture. (Maybe that would be another use for duct tape.) Has anyone tried Feliway?

Everyone is getting their aristocratic names done. So, here are ours. As you can see, Precious, aka Squirt got two! Momma likes the purple part in her name, very fitting, she says. (Momma loves purple.) So, now, we would like the respect deserving of our names. Thank you very much.

You can get your own fancy dancy name by going to Your Peculiar Aristocratic Title.

Super Big Bowl Sunday

Momma says today is super bowl Sunday. Does that mean we get a bigger dish of food, a super big sized bowl of food? This bowl looks like the standard size, to me.

Changes

Momma decided, because things have changed here in the cabin in the Big Piney Woods, since she helped us start this blog, it needs to be updated.

The name has changed from The Calico Girls to The Big Piney Woods Cats, to include all four girls; although the url remains the same. (http://thecalicogirls.blogspot.com/) You can change your blogroll, if you like, to The Big Piney Woods Cats.

While we will all be blogging, Mittens is a senior catizen now, and needs more rest. Precious has taken over a lot of her posting duties.

Momma updated each of our profiles in the sidebar, with a short history of how we came to live here. She changed our main profile picture to an outdoor picture of the Big Piney Woods, and the name we will be using to sign comments is Big Piney Woods Cats.

We hope you like the changes. Momma hates change and it took her a long time before she finally went along with the plan. She was going to call it The Big Piney Woods Girls, but then, you never know.......maybe someboy cat will join us, someday. She says, this way, she has covered all the bases.

Ground Up Hog Day

I am looking for a ground up hog.

Momma says she is having trouble posting pictures on blogger, and also when commenting on others, keeps getting a red x in the verification box. She says this is the NEW IMPROVED blogger.

George Foreman

Gemini figured out who took off the pillow tags, and Miles concurs. It wasn't Momma, it was Lazy Susan, and that is why she is hiding in the cupboard. Whew, what a relief, Momma won't be prosecuted, after all. I found her, and she wasn't spinning, but sitting there holding up all sorts of things, pans, waffle iron, mixer, and George Foreman. I have heard this George is REAL heavy, so, even though Susan is lazy, she must be strong.

Ham-Brr-Grrs

Momma fixed ham-brr-grrs last night. I had a taste, and here is what I found:

Ham: It doesn't taste anything like ham.
Brrr: It was hot, not cold.
Grr: It didn't make a sound, Mittens is the only one who growls in this house.

Another thing, about Lazy Susan, who I still haven't found (although William and The Meezers said she was in the cupboard.) Momma says she spins around, while holding things. She must get powerful dizzy. (I really think Momma is awful confused.) She still hasn't been hauled off to jail, from removing the pillow tags, but I am keeping a watch, in the window.

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Oh, No!!!

I am very worried. Momma committed a terrible crime. She took the tags off some pillows and it says, "Do not remove, under penalty of law." Now she is going to jail and we are going to be without a Momma.

Looking For Susan

Miles Meezer mentioned lazy Susan in his post on Thursday Thirteen. Momma says we have a lazy Susan, too. I have looked and looked, but can't find anyone by the name of Susan napping anywhere. Maybe she needs bitamins. Maybe she needs mo-tiv-ation. Maybe I should find her and tackle her leg. Hey, Susan, come on out and play!!!

Chicken Little

Hi, funny little critter. Momma says you are a chicken, and came from Lost Wages, Nevada. You have sand in your butt. Momma says that helps you to sit up, without tipping over. Wanna play?

A Greary Day

It is a greary day here (gray and dreary.) I have been spending time getting huggles from Momma, chasing Patches, playing under the table with my many toys, munching, and climbing the tree. What do you do on greary days?

Just Wondering

I am resting here, wondering why Patches gets upset when I swat her tail. She leaves it in plain site and moves it, ever so slow. What is a girlcat to do? I only tried to bite it one time!

The Snow Zone

We went from a "know zone" (see post below) to a "snow zone." Momma says it looks like a foot of new snow. It snowed for 18 naps!! Her and Daddy are using big spoons to shovel it away from the windows, as they are all covered up. It is kind of neat, almost like a cave in the cabin. Daddy did some groaning this morning when he saw it. The snow all came zooming off the roof, that is what is covering up our windows, sending the three of us into hiding.

There was a man visiting, all day yesterday, putting a new dish on the house, to replace the old dish. Why would anyone put a dish on their house? It should be on the floor, filled with Stinky Goodness. Momma says it is a High Definitition dish, so maybe that means you can see the food in it better. It is full of snow right now!!
