Purrs Needed

My friend Sue, who lives in the UK and signs sometimes as English Daisy, needs your support, thoughts, and purrs for Little Felix, her outside tuxedo kitty.

She wrote me the following yesterday:

"Been out this morning, and came home to find the front kennel (where we left Little Felix asleep in when we went out) has been split in two, well the roof part, and one of my clay pots smashed to bits, and black fur all over the grass, and the inner bedding in the kennel all ruined. And no little Felix. I feel sick. I suspect she was sound asleep and somehow a dog found its way up there, though why a dog should be in our garden, and find the kennel which is hidden by large pot plants, I don't know. Can't find her anywhere, she isn't answering to our call, and the slate roof looks like it's erupted outwards from inside, so she was probably trapped inside it, woken by the dog and burst out through the roof, breaking the slate and shooting off the piece of timber across the top of the roof. Doesn't look like it's been broken by an animal landing on top of it. I just hope she isn't badly injured somewhere."

Here is a picture of the nice kennel they had built for her, safe and sound, next to the house. Little Felix is like our Mistrie, an outside cat, who would have it no other way.

Flower Friday

Momma and Daddy took a drive two weeks ago. This was taken about 20 miles from here, in the mountains above Clark Fork, Idaho. Still lots of snow in the mountains.

Note: There won't be a post for Saturday. Momma and Daddy are picking up the new campurr today and going to try it out. They will be back Saturday, sometime. Come on ofur and bisit us.

Chatham's Party

Wow, what a great 20th purrthday party. Thanks for the great time. I hope Precious didn't do too much damage. If she did, please let us know so we can compensate for the cost of repairs. I have six cents and Mittens has eight cents. Precious doesn't have anything as she spends it as fast as she finds it, and Mistrie has hers buried in Momma's fowler garden, and won't tell us where it is, or how much she has. I think she has some fairy dust, but don't know if she has any monies.

Monday Mews

Momma and Daddy bought a new campurr (they traded in the old one for a bigger model) and I have heard rumers about taking us on camping trips; me and Squirt, anyway. They will have the naybor come ofur and feed Mistrie and check on Mittens and water the fowlers. I am hoping this is just a rumer.

Momma went to Starbucks with the MeezersMom and saw a big boy kitty in the parking lot. He was shaved like a poodle and was furry friendly. Momma followed him, he went next door and he asked her if she would let him in. She told him she couldn't just let him in any old store. He then started opening it himself, and ran into the entry. A lady came and told Momma he lived there, and it was fine, he was their mascot. He was a good old boy.

Napping With Momma

Momma asked me if I would like to nap with her on the couch. I jumped right on up and cuddled up atween her legs, (which she had pulled up) and her arms, in that cozy curve. First, I put my butt in her face so she could spect it and smell, if she so desired. Then I turned around and made biscuits on her boobs until she said "ouch, ouch, ouch," so I moved to her armpit, and made them, while I sang a song. She was just starting to doze when I thought I saw a liddle spider under her, and had to protect her. I reached under with both pawsies and dug around under her. (I didn't find anyfing.) She opened one eye, sort of glared at me, and said sumfing about settling down. I turned around, and started to wash my tail, then saw my pawsies were in deep need of some cleaning. Her elbow was just sticking out too far, so I bit it, not hard, just enough to get her tenshion. Then I gave it a good lick, in case I bited a tad too hard. Then I bit her fingers. Now she said she was wide awake. Well, I was ready for my nap, having splored all other possiblilies, so I went down to the end of the couch and fell asleep. Funny, she got up and nefur did nap!

Scam Alert

Please check your phone bill monthly for charges that look suspicious. We were billed $7.14 from a business called OAN Services. Their website is bogus. (http://www.oanweb.com/) I called Verizon and they told me that they (Verizon) bill so many 3rd parties, they don't check to see who they are. OAN claims we made a directory assistance call at 6:50 AM (we never call at that time) and the charge was $7.14. When I called the toll free number, the guy said he would cut a check and block our phone number; very nice. Of course, we would never see the check, the lady at Verizon verified this, and took the amount off our bill. I did a search for OAN scams and they have been doing this for 8 years!!

Today is the youngest, furless one's purrday. His name is Aaron and he is 39. Momma is making him a purrday cake called angel food. I hope she doesn't bake any angels in it. No, she says there is fowler (flour) in it. I wonder if she is going to use these petunia fowlers.

Thoughts On Thursday

I think Patches hates me. She was efurr so mean to me today when Momma went, in the metal monster wif wheels, to have coffees with the MeezerMom. I was just trying to play, and her nose got out of joint, because she was in a sleep. She chased me up the stairs and hissed and growled and snapped at me. Daddy had to holler bad werds at her.

You can see how sweet I am. I even gave Momma a Ma-saj with my tosies on her back, to help with tenshuns.

Patches: Momma, I am tired of the same old dry food day after day. Since the recall, we don't efun get our stinky goodness. How would you like to have to eat the same thing, day in and day out? Momma, are you listening to me? Listen to my tummy rumble. It is asking for var-eye-it-tea.

Momma: I have three different kinds of food out, Patches. The Iams I bought made you turn up your nose. And..... that rumble was thunder.

Furst of all, overwhelming consensus said to "free Mistrie," so she is exonerated of all charges. The Zoo made the following in our comments, which made the final assision: "If the fur doesn't fit, you must acquit!"

1. I start waking Momma and Daddy up at 5:00 AM. I have had enough sleep, so they should have too.
2. I tease Mittens and make her growl.

1. Momma says I am a good girl and I am not naughty, I do growl, though, when I am unhappy.
2. Sometimes I poop on the bed when my tummy hurts bad. I just do it so Momma knows I am sick.

A Mystery Starring Mistrie

The other night Momma had to cuver her plants with towels cuz she thought it might freeze. In the morning, she found, two of them had been slept on. One was in a pot, the other was under a tree. She said the plants were mashed and there was furs on the towel. I am bestigating; comparing fur samples and talking to suspects. When I in-terror-gated Mistrie she said, " purrr, purr, purrr." She is my number one suspect, actually, my only suspect. Don't you think she looks guilty?

Could It Be A Fairy?

Beezie wrote the following in my comments section a while back:

"maybe she (Mistrie) remembers you from long ago before you came to live in the cabin. Ya know, she may have been talking to the fairies that led the mombean to you."

I wondered about that, as the fairies were down in the Corner Woods where me and my two little ones were hiding. There was a special purrty one with a purple gossamer dress and yellow long hairs. She liked to peek at us through the leaves.

So, here I am asking her, and YES, the purrty fairy talked to Mistrie about us. Mistrie said she meditated for Momma to come down and save us, and she did. She said the fairy told her not to worry about my babies, they are fine and happy!

Momma says Mistrie is a magical forest cat.

Time Of Day: The minute Momma lets me out of my bedroom and I can sit on her lap and make biscuits and purr at her.

Day Of The Week: They are all pretty much the same around here; Momma and Daddy are tired, so they stay home with us most of the time.

Season Of The Year: Being inside all the time, it doesn't much matter, but the birds are the busiest in the spring and I love to watch Momma outside messing with her fowlers. (The picher above was taken this winter, when I was looking for spring.)

Holiday: I don't know yet. Momma didn't put up a tree this year cuz she said I was too little to 'preciate it and would prolly climb it or knock it ofur. I think I would really like Christmas though and climbing the tree.

Beaches: They are for the furless ones, I am not crazy about anything wet.

Song: Momma and Daddy play country all the time, so I have not experienced a wide selection.

Flower: All the purty ones Momma plants; especially the pansies cuz they have faces and I see the fairies in them.

Talk Show: I am in bed afore the talk shows come on.

Movie: My attention span is quite short, a movie is way too long.

Soaps: The only soap I know about is the kind Momma uses to wash her hands.

Beverage: Water is the only think we ever get.

Fruit: What kind of a question is that for a feline????

Snack: Temptations, of course!!!

Food: Purina One; I turn my nose up at furless food.

Restaurant: Huh?? Is that a place to go take a nap when you want something? ( Rest - I- Want)

Daddy went downstairs at 4:30 this morning and let me out of the bedroom. Right away I started howling for Patches. She wouldn't show her face, so I got up on the window sill where Daddy left his glass of water, and knocked it over. I can't help it if it broked. It must not have been made furry good to get broked so easy, like that. I know Momma wants a new set of glasses anyway, so I am just helping her out. Then I got blamed for the vase.....but it fell over all by itself, honest. I don't know how my favorite ball that KC and Missy sent me with some special nips got behind it. I just don't know. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Meeting Mistrie Again

Grr, Midnight and Cocoa asked me to smell Mistrie real good, the next time I got a chance, so I can tell them what the Out smells like. So I did, and it smells like, pine, grass, fresh air, sunshine, wild flowers, and smoke (Daddy has been burning branches and leaves) It is a most powerful smell, Momma calls it kitty par fum.... She says we all have our own kitty smell and she says it is alicious.

I am showing her I am the boss of the Inside Girls. Pretty impressive, don't you think?

Momma changed our profile picher to show the Big Piney Woods Pond. There are 47 ducks, geese and turkeys being fed corn by Momma and Daddy now.

Mistrie Likes Me!

Momma opened the door when she saw Mistrie looking in. She saw me, and came a step inside, purring, then gave me a nice kiss......but.....then she headbutted me!!. It scairt me so bad I jumped back and flattened my ears, then I gave her the paw. She is a bit intimidating; she smells of outside smells and isn't shy in the least. (Except around the furless ones.) She likes me, that I know for sure. Patches sits on her throne under the dining room table and snoopervises and keeps a green eye on me, just in case. She is my big sisfur, after all. Momma put flea stuff on Mistrie, because she said she didn't want any of those nasty buggers jumping onto me.

Patches Lady

1. My Daddy named me Patches and I am Daddy's girl.

2. I have a ritual at night. I always jump over Daddy and then snuggle down next to him.

3. I am the friendliest of the Big Piney Woods Cats and always welcome people.

4. I love raw and cooked people meat and know immediately when Momma starts supper. She always gives me tastes.

5. I love round soft balls, they are my favorite toy.

Note from CalicoMom Toni: As many of you know, since Mittens' tummy problems back in Oct, she has remained upstairs. Suddenly, last night, she appeared, downstairs. She went into the dining room and sat for a short time, then went back upstairs. Later, around 3:00 in the morning, she got on the bed where she usually snuggles by me, made biscuits and then started bunny kicking the covers! What a wonderful Mother's Day present from her!

Mistrie Rose Was Tagged

Mistrie Rose was tagged by China, and she asked me to type the following answers for her:

1. I am, and always will remain, outside. I love it and have no desire to come in, although I love seeing the other girls through the screen.

Momma went to town and bought almost $200 worth of bedding plants. Daddy went fishing.....that will teach him not to leave her alone! Now she is going to go out and play in the dirt. I bet she will have a surprise when she finds out what Mistrie left her in the flower bed. She is looking real innocent, but I saw her, out the window, yup I did.

Momma says my tail is "funny." She says it bends and curls like a little piglet tail. Usually I have it folded in half, here I am trying real hard to straighten it out like my mentors, Patches and Mittens do their tails, with just a little curl on the end.

WAKE UP, GET UP!!!!

This morning it was disgustingly late (4:35 AM) and the Furless Ones had been napping for hours. It was way past feeding time. (Momma has to put my food up in the night, so Mittens doesn't sneak downstairs and eat any.) Momma had her hand hanging off the side of the bed, so I licked it and she just put it under the covers, then I licked Daddy's eyebrow. I went downstairs and did my famous "get up" yowl! For five minutes I did this, finally I went back upstairs, thinking they were surely dead! Momma came around at 5:30 and fed us, by this time I was a complete rack of bones!! I was so emancipated my face was hollow and I felt weak and shaky. See how hollow my cheeks are.....

A Purr For Momma

Momma: Mittens, do you have a purr for me? I bet you do, even if it is hidden deep inside.

Mittens: Yes, Momma, I always have a purr for you. Sometimes it takes a while to bring it up, it get buried kind of deep in my purr region, especially if I am not feeling too good.

Momma: Mittens, you have such a special place in my heart.

They say cats purr, even when they are very sick. I guess I tend to disagree, in Mittens' case anyway. If she doesn't purr for me, I know she is sick, otherwise, she sings me a great song. It starts deep inside her, growing with each breath, resounding with love.

Flowers From Beezie

After reading your comments, I decided not to pierce my ears.

When we went on our walk, Beezie picked some wild violets and made a lovely ring of flowers to put in my furs. He says he likes that better than earrings. What do you think? I think I agree.

Sassy

I want to get my ears pierced. I think purple studs would look nice, they would go with the purple softpaws Momma is going to order for me for next time, but she says NO and tells me not to be sassy about it. Just wait until I am two, if she thinks I am sassy now. . I think I will ask Derby the Sassy Cat to give me sassy lessons.......

A Fun Time

On Sunday English Daisy, Scooby, Shaggy, Scout, Beezie, Daisy, Edsel, Tara, Eric, Flynn, Beau Beau, Angie, Lux, Zippy, Speedy, Sadie, Rascal, Suzanne, Casper, and Princess Mia came over for a pick-nick and fairy watching party. Efurrycat had fun watching the new baby geese (6 in all) and all the ducks and turkeys. They even saw some vishus deer! The highlight was the fairy watching, as they came out and danced and played with Mistrie. Beezie furnished salmon and English Daisy brought "speshil toona flakes in jooce!" It was powerful good.

I had to be a tad naughty and followed Beezie and Precious, at a distance. They were really cute, all purring and holding paws. Beezie is quite the gentlecat; kissing her on the forehead once and they nose nuzzled a couple of times. They didn't see me because I was all stealth and quiet.
