Dr. Kathy did the exploratory surgery on Precious and found she had ingested carpet fibers that had packed at the entrance to her large intestine. We have wood floors, the carpet fibers came from the cat tree. Each time the cats scratch, small pieces of carpet are shed. I am constantly sweeping them up. I never knew she was eating them and I guess I never would have thought it would have caused a problem. She also has a lot of fat build up around her insides and will probably go on special food to help eliminate this fat pad (she is 9 pounds, down a whole pound from last week,so she is not fat by any means.) This extra fat causes pressure on her intestines. The vet also suggested a lion cut to help with the ingesting of fur. She took a biopsy of something, but I failed, in my excitement, to write it down. She is coming out of the anesthetic and might come home tomorrow!!! Thank you so much for all your support, your purrs and thoughts helped get Precious and me, too, through a real trying time.

We are so sorry to hear that Precious had to have surgery, but so glad to hear that they found out what was wrong and she will be able to heal now. Our greyt sister, Camie, had that happen to her too - not with carpet tho - we never did figure out what it was.
We will be purring that she's back home as soon as possible and that she doesn't get anymore owies.

Wowie! Good thing she had surgery because it probably would not go away by itself! I hope this means she will recover quickly. Harley and I are still purring and purring for Precious.

Poor Precious! I hope you are feeling much better now that that nasty stuff is outta you. Don't eat any more, okay? I bet your mom will be so happy to haf you home!
We hope Precious is home with you now. If you want to allow her some freedom without having to wear an e-collar, Mom says to get a baby onesie, cut a hole for her tail, and she will be able to move around, but not get to her stitches. They did that with one of the cats that came before when he swallowed the lifting cord to a turkey. Also human baby food meat (without garlic) is good for sore tummies.

We are so happy that she is better! If only our kitties could talk (sometimes). Purrs and purrayers.
I know the feeling with fat pads and pressure on intestines. Boy. Special diet for me, too, is in order. Yay for precious and boo for carpet fibers. I am a carpet hater. I rip them out wherever I go whenever I can. Glad Precious troubles might soon be over, minus carpet fibers, those nasty creations.
We are so relieved that Precious will be OK. We know that she will get lots of lovin' and treats from the residents of the Big Piney Woods.
Take care and heal quickly, pretty girl!
Toby, Cupcake and Mum
Well?
Hoping Precious is home and the quiet is because she cuddling with everyone and no one wants to disturb her.
Still purrrrring for Precious.
Oh my goodness! Thank goodness that the vet found the mass of carpet fibers in her intestine and removed it! Wowwwwweeeee! We are so happy for you and Precious!
