Sad News

My Mittens has a tumor in her small intestine, where it connects to her stomach, also it has spread into her upper chest cavity. Mittens was very good, even through the lengthy ultrasound process, on her back. I held her front paws and talked to her, she actually nodded off once and never attempted to scratch or bite, she didn't even growl, like she does when she is upset. Christine, her vet, said they could operate for the tumor in the intestine, but that doesn't address the fact it has spread. Also her age is against her. She gave her two months. I have meds to help with her appetite. It is a cold, cloudy day, the way my heart feels right now. :(

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments, they mean so much!

Miss Mittens, I am very sad to hear that you are so sick. My mum said she has "known" you for about 8 years, and loves you just as much as she loves me ... I am sending you many purrs, and my mum sends hugs and love to your mum. We both love you very much.

Oh - I'm so sorry. I have 4 cats that I adore and I can't bear to think of losing them. Another dear blog friend recently lost her best friend and kitty and she has been mourning. My heart goes out to you and I'd give you a big hug if I could.

I am so sorry :-(
I lost my oldest and best girl to intestinal lymphosarcoma on August 13. I was able to have her with me from the time she was adopted at 1 1/2 until she was 13.
On the day she was ready to go, she looked at me and I just knew.
I made the appointment for late the day and decided to hold her until then, but she died right in my arms.

The oral steroids she received gave her new life, appetite, and energy and did buy us several months of together time. Love to you both. May you have many, many days left to be together though I know forever feels like it wouldn't be long enough.
