We have had a goose napping!!!! The story goes like this:
Mom and Dad goose #1 hatched out 7 babies on our pond. Later that day Mom and Dad goose #2 came by with 2 babies. Geese, after they have their babies, hang close to each other, but protect their little ones. However, Mom and Dad goose #1 decided 7 wasn't enough and goose-napped Mom and Dad goose #2 babies, so they have 9 now, and Mom and Dad goose #2 are very upset. Our Daddy says he has never seen this happen before. Momma feels bad for the poor parents. I wonder if they want a ransom. Maybe a sack of corn? Possibly Harley, with his Secret Agent 007.5 experience, can shed some light on this caper.

I have gathered together all of my investigative tools. When I looked up geese-napping in my Spycat Manual, I see that this is a very serious crime indeed! Mom and Dad goose #1 are just waiting for Mom and Dad goose #2 to pay the ransom. Then I feel sure that they will return the bebbehs unharmed. Or else I might have to arrest them.
Huh. That does seem like a very nice thing to do. I wonder why? I wonder if those two goslings are happing?
wow, we haf nefur heard of that 'afore eifur!!! inneresting!
HI TO OUR BESTEST FURRIENDS
"Oh My" that is sad perhaps they'll give them back eventually.
Poor mom and dad goose #2. We have never heard of that before either.
Maybe they were babysitting....
Oh, now! A crime. We hope they give those little ones back before Harley has to arrest them!
I have never heard of anything like this before. I know that animals will sometimes adopt orphans, but kidnapping is new to me. I hope that goose Mom and Dad #2 get their goslings back somehow.
We have never heard of anything like that either. It is very interesting tho.

We have lots of geese around here so we know how protective they are of their young. They will hiss & take runs at you!!! Vishus!
That is a very strange thing.
The ones around here usually have two hatches each year, so maybe for the next batch, that couple might be smarter to hang out somewhere else.
Goosenapping?? That really is unusual! There are some geese on the pond next to my mum's school but they don't have any babies yet this year.
Goosenapping? Weird!
Do you need help with it, Mistrie? I thought the geese were a little skeery, but ... Well, it would be fun to watch fairies too. hehe
Purrrrrrrrs,
