This is MY scratching post. It is part of a huge cat tree Momma bought for ME several summers ago. You can see the use it has gotten; (yes Mittens uses it, too, when I am napping.) Momma took this picture of me when I go "nutso," as she calls it. Whenever she picks me up, which I hate, I have to take my anger/frustration out on something (not her, for obvious reasons.) I especially hate "Wonder Woman." I am a cat, I do not fly! So, I tear into my post.Patches Lady

Efurryone likes the scratching post. It has a nice mixture of all our scents on it. PL yours is broken in real nice.

Tell your momma that even if it is an eyesore it's precious to you and like Abby says has your scent on it. We kitties don't like it much when we get new ones, Old & familiar is best. We are glad it's the post you attack & not your mom, dad, or sister!!!!
You's furry smart not to 'tack your beanmom or anycat. Looks like you's done good 'tackin your scratchy post tho. SS&S are right too, and Abby. New post would just gotta be broked in right anyways and it'd look lots like the old post! You look furry vishus, Patches, not nutso. I know what nutso looks like an you don' look anyfind like Mini!

The almost dad just flips me... I think I would like a post that was narrow enough to grab--particularly when they were trying to pick me up!
We have a new tower for Victor. I won't haf anyfing to do wif it. He goes nutso an attacks it an jumps up and falls off. You appear to haf much more dainty, lady-like habits. I myself will stretch my legs on the old post, but that new one... it's been Victorised too much.
I LOVE to claw stuff. My kitty furnitures are best, but I'll claw the Lady's arm if she's asleep and I need petting. Yesterday the Lady and the Blonde Girl grabbed me and attacked me with the claw destroyers. They got almost all of them before I was able to put the bitey on them and stop the madness.

I got attacked with the claw destroyers yesterday too. I take out my feelings on the wicker laundry basket, especially in the mornings when my humans are too slow to serve breakfast. You should see the state of that laundry basket...
Hmm. Maybe I need a new scratching post. (The old one got left behind two moves ago.) Whenever I get mad at Dad, I take it out on Mom by biting her ankles and feet!
It sure does look like you have definitely left your vicious mark on that post! I would hate to think what you could do to someone else if you really wanted to! Shudder!
I do the same thing when I is not happy with mum. But she just laffs as I have no claws to do any damage. But if I did, the house would be in shreds.
No see, THAT is why I wish I had claws. So I could wreak havoc and destruction amongst everything in the house!
