Sweet Tabs

My very good internet friend from England, Sue, lost her calico, Daisy, on Nov. 19, 2007. She had two outside cats, Fat Tabby (renamed Tabs) and Little Felix. Tabs came to stay about 5 years ago, (she had her own kennel and regular meals) but became an inside cat on Dec. 11, 2007, and to quote Sue "she walked in through the door on a very very cold and frosty night, and just didn't walk out again." Sue noticed she had trouble breathing and the vet diagnosed cardiomyopathy. She also had kidney and liver damage, and was hyperthyroid. They did everything possible, but her breathing finally became so labored, it was time to let her go. Even though she couldn't hear, Sue was always talking to her, and she would chirp and meow. She was a little doll, a true sweetie.

Tabs

The day is done
The time has come
We said our last goodbye

The pain is real
How sad we feel
We loved you, oh so much

Where you used to sleep
Where you used to eat
All reminds us now

Of a cat so rare
Of a friend so fair
Only memories remain

Rest in peace, darling Tabs. Have fun with Daisy and all the other cats that went before at Rainbow Bridge. We will light a candle, to help you on your way.

I am very sad about the loss of Tabs. I hate cardiomyopathy, because that is what Pixie has. At least Daisy will be waiting at the Bridge to welcome her.

We just came from Fat Eric's and reading about Tabs. We are glad she found such a nice life for her remaining years. We hope another cat finds her people soon!

We are very sad to hear that Tabs has left for the Bridge. We know she'll be greeted by many friends.

I posted about Tabs too. It is very sad. However, I just know there is another cat or cats out there somewhere plotting to move in with Sue some time!

So sad to hear of Tabs going to the Rainbow Bridge, but at least he had Sue to watch over him while he was here. And while he left his mark on Sue, Sue left her mark on him... it is always hard when we have to let them go...

I want to thank Toni for this beautiful tribute to Tabs, and also to thank you all for your wonderfully supportive comments. Of course I cry when I read them, but it's heartening to know you are all there. Tabs was a beautiful girl, and I'm only sorry she didn't have longer to be the indoor cat she finally chose to become, but at least her last few months were warm and cosy and safe ..... and loved.

I was so sorry to hear about Tabs. Sh needed Sue and Sue needed her. It's too bad they didn't have more time together. Take care.
