Our Bad Experience

When I first started, over a year ago, I had a terrible incident when our blog was highlighted on a local newspaper (in a good way.) Some people, who read the tribute to us, made jokes and got real nasty, talking about crazy cat bloggers. I got criticized for the spelling, bad grammar, etc. (I actually went through the whole blog, correcting spelling and grammar. It took me half a day, I was so hurt.) It was so upsetting I couldn't eat or sleep for days. Now I am so glad I didn't let this incident make me delete my blog, it would have been such a loss to me.

I read enough of the voting to see why people are upset, but it isn't catastrophic enough to make you stop blogging. Things got out of hand, yes. I guess that is why, when I do a contest, I specify cat bloggers only, one vote only, etc.

Those of you who quite because of this, we will miss you. The rest of you.......your cats are waiting to post and we are waiting to read what they have been up to!!!

Mu shue Pooh King Cat had a great idea. We need to each put out our paws and hug four other kitties. So we hug:
Edsel
The Meezers
Max and Buddah
Derby

Just my two cents, for what it's worth......

There are just sickos out there who have nothing better to do than criticizing and being snarky about everything!!

I am glad to have found your blog. I enjoy reading it everyday.

Hugs to you, Calicodad, Patches, Mittens, Precious and Mistrie.

We're glad you stayed too. This was a totally new experience to us when we joined the cat blogging community. We felt a part of this community right away especially because you came almost every day to our blog and made us feel so welcome. As someone recently said to our Mom during a difficult situation "rise above it". We're glad you did and we got to meet the Calico girls -- now the Big Piney Woods Cats.

Your mom made an excellent post. It's amazing how cruel some people can be. I've had my share of mean comments on my blog because I don't look like a 'regular' cat. Mom deletes all those comments, but it still hurts to read them!

I'm very glad you didn't let your bag experience stop you from blogging and we aren't about to let some cruel comments stop us either. My mom considers it her mission to educate people about Sphynx!

Here are some *hugs* for all of you!

I don't have a blog....heck I don't even have a computer at home right now....but I do have cats. Four of them...Sneakers, Rowdy, Bones and Buddy (plus two dogs...Mookie and Binx). I LOVE your blog and I would really miss you if you weren't around. Reading about your girls really brightens my day. Thanks for staying.

What a very nice, appropriate post. I've been feeling very bad because I did a little survey on the voting rules, which I published Thursday, completely unaware of what was going on over at the Zeus excuse. Somehow, I felt responsible. But today is a glorious day, and I'm back to enjoying our blogging community.

I'm really glad you stayed, I love your blog.

What is the old saying????
to thy own self be true? Or something like that...
The only ones you can listen to, (I said listen, not change) about any changes.. is to the people who read you. Being you get 100% feed back of how wonderful we all think your blog is... and to you, yourself. Look how everyone gathers around as each cat has gone across the bridge. Look at how everyone gathered around Edsel's momma and you when each of you were having health problems... this is what matters... not the outsiders who have no clue how wonderful it is to have a cat for a friend... or even a puppy...
Blog on my friends...

We're glad you didn't leave as well. there will always be some jealous people in the world who don't like to see others enjoying themselves, and try to spoil things for them. When we first started blogging, and we couldn't sort our links out, you not only told us how to do it, but actually spent your time, and did them for us. For that we are still grateful.

I wasn't following the whole thing so I'm not sure what was going on. But, I am glad that the Piney Woods Girls are here! I know that the most important job I have is to be happy and give loves to my MomLady. I think that is the bestest job any kitty could have. Sometimes peoples forget that is all we kitties want!

I send my best huggies to all the girls. (and a special nose kissy to my Precious -- there is always room on my quilt for a snuggle with you!)

Hello Lovely Ladies of the Big Piney Woods! We came by to tell you how much we enjoy your blog, even though we don't usually get to comment. Not only is your blog wonderful to look at, but we appreciate that most of your posts are short and sweet (since we are often extremely short on time), we love that there is a new post everyday, we love that you almost ALWAYS have pictures put up... and we like that we get to learn about all the cats... lots of sharing on this blog! Oh! And we really like the poetry too! Each of you ladies is special in your own way and we love all of you! Lots of hugs and purrs to you!! ~Mattingly and Harlie

I'm really, really, really glad you stuck with it. Just think of all the mean stuff people say about cats -- and they keep on keeping on. If they can do it, so can bloggers.

Spoiler said...

Mattingly, interesting what you said about brevity in posts being a plus. I'm one week into blogging and just re-thought my blog Saturday ... decided to change it, and cutting out the long-winded posts is one thing I'm going to try.
