Today is the anniversary of 9/11. It is a day to reflect on the terrible tragedy that happened to our country and our people. Our thoughts go out to all those who lost loved ones and friends, in this horrible disaster. It will always be on our minds. Our country will never be the same.

Just seeing that picture made me cry. Tears are dripping on my desk. There have been so many lives lost to natural disasters and diseases, but this is so much harder to deal with because it was a deliberate act.

I'm old enough to remember the day President Kennedy was assassinated, which defined time for me until 9/11. I never could have imagined something overshadowing that national tragedy--now, I can barely remember what it was like before it.
