Mistrie Rose

I will be helping Mistrie Rose to the bridge today at 2:30.  She will be cremated and put in a jar next to Patches grave.  She just never got better, only worse, was suffering and I just couldn't watch her and have her pleading with me with her sweet meows to help her.  She was much worse this AM, She let me scoop her up and put her in the carrier, no problem, my sweet, wild feral girl!  I love you so!  Now it is time to be warm and happy and free of pain sweet girl.  You gave us 9 wonderful years.

The photo was taken in July,  2006.

We sure send tons of purrs and many purrs. Also some mighty big hugs for taking care of her all this time. They are a special breed.

  18. We so remember that Mistrie Rose loved her freedom and her magical fairy forest. She now resides with those magical fairies and we will always remember her for the beautiful spirit she was.

    The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
    Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

  28. Miss Mistrie Rose was such a lovely hostess when we all came for the Olympics. She shared her magical forest with us and we all loved her so very much. Thank you, Mom Toni, for respecting Mistrie Rose and letting her be the wild, free spirit she was meant to be. Thank you most of all for loving her enough to take her pain into your own heart when you helped her to the Bridge. We know that Mistrie is sharing stories with her sister Patches and lots of other old furrends. Her soul will journey with yours forever.

Sending lots of love and purrs,

  48. Sweet girl Mistrie Rose. You blessed Toni & the Calico Girls with many years of your joyful presence. You also blessed all us bloggers from the early years with your outdoors adventures. We remember you most vividly entertaining the fairies of the Piney Woods. When you walked up that driveway to Mom Toni you walked into the best life you could ever imagine. Thank you for letting us share her, Toni. You have done the right thing for her today Toni. I am certain when the light is just right, you will see her once again, full of life and vigor, playing with the bugs and chasing the leaves at the edge of the yard. Lynne
