Precious Update 4

The vet called earlier this AM and told me she hasn't vomited but hasn't passed the barium either. So, it is a waiting game. Now I don't know if she will be coming home today or not. Still no diagnosis. Thanks so much for coming by and giving your support. Will let you know when I get some news.

This thing came on so fast, no warning. From a healthy, vibrant cat who loved playing with kitten, to a sick, despondent cat. In the back of mind I keep wondering if she ate something. I am so careful and she doesn't seem to ever chew on things. She is 100% indoors.

  3. That sounds like distemper, yellow vomit, also causes gut inflammation bleeding. Sounds like a vaccinated cat with mild distemper. I'm not a vet, sorry, just guessing from your description. Dog parvo snap tests will test also for feline distemper I heard.

  4. Telescopic bowel? Diaphramatic hernia, from a fall, could she have fallen? Did they check that black tarry stool for blood? Isn't that what humans would see as a symptom of upper GI bleeding? Did she eat something sharp that could have punctured the bowel, esophugus or intestine?

  6. Strayer...yes her stool was checked, it has blood in it, but came back negative for the tests they did. Anything is possible, still waiting on results of the barium. As far as eating something, I have been super careful to never let my cats get anything they could eat and hurt them. Playing a horrible waiting game. The vet already ruled out distemper.
